T2 W10 Newsletter 2023
From The Principal
Here’s an old story about a man who walked into a church that was under construction.
He went up to one of the workers and asked, “What are you doing?”
“I’m sawing a board,” the man replied.
He strolled up to a second worker and asked him what he was doing. “I’m building a pew,” was his answer.
Then the visitor walked over to a third worker and asked him the very same question.
“I’m building a cathedral to the glory of God!” he replied.
Now there’s a person who understands how his work contributes to the common good. The Christian notion of success is something very different from personal enrichment or self-gratification. It has to do with the good of the whole body. We could all stand to recover something of that ideal of success. We could all stand to lay aside something of our precious individualism, roll up our sleeves for the good of our own family, but also for the good of the whole community.
If you stand up and achieve, often in Australia we are cut down by others through words, actions or gossip. I would hope at St Anne's Catholic Primary School we respectfully stand together and achieve together for the benefit of our little ones, each other, our community and for the glory of God.
Our school vision statement implies that in partnership with families, church and the wider community,… practices and interactions within the school will reflect a respect for each person’s dignity as one created by God.
I thank all families and staff for so positively and enthusiastically contributing to our school and look forward to continuing to celebrate our successes and achievements, sharing our joys and sorrows throughout the year for the common good. St Anne's is not my school, and it is not just your children’s school, St Anne's is a great school – IT IS OUR SCHOOL!
Principal's Messages
STAFFING NEWS | It is with great sadness that I inform you of the resignation of Mrs Linda Holmes, (Mrs H) from her position as Assistant Principal in Curriculum. The good news is that Linda will remain on staff.
I thank Linda very much for the wisdom and knowledge she so willingly shares with us all.
Her professionalism, dedication and commitment to the improvement of curriculum at St Anne's is truly a wonderful example of servant leadership. Thank you for all you have done for us Linda.
It is also with sadness that I inform you of the resignation of Mrs Jill Cotter. Jill has made the very difficult decision to resign her position at St Anne's as teacher assistant. Jill has been with us a number of years now and plans on focussing solely on her family and her university studies. Jill is thanked for her dedication and professionalism and will be missed very much. We look forward to seeing you around Jill as you continue to do school drop off.
