T2 W5 Newsletter 2021
From The Principal
For me, to live life without dreaming is to live life with no energy and no fire in the belly. For me, dreams are very important as they give me focus and direction - direction about the here and now as well as about the future.
The following was given to me recently and really touched me.
Find a comfortable chair,
Close your eyes, put your hands in your lap
and start learning how to dream again.
Dream for five minutes. Dream about the past.
Dream about what you've already been.
Repeat this for the next day and the next.
After some time you'll get the knack of dreaming again.
You'll begin to regain the long lost art of dreaming.
Then start dreaming forward.
Dream what has yet to be done.
Dream a direction for yourself.
A Recipe for Dreaming - Bryce Courtenay.
Do you dream? What do you spend your time dreaming about? To find some balance in your very hectic schedule make a time for dreaming - it is important!

The Good News

Sunday's Gospel Reflection - THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD YEAR B
Mark 16:15-20 Jesus commissions the eleven, ascends to heaven
The Feast of the Ascension is really a kind of liminal moment in the Easter season. It is a time between times; a moment when we have left one place in our journey, but have not yet arrived at a second. While the narratives that describe the Ascension fit well into the unfolding story of redemption, the feast itself celebrates one aspect of the resurrection itself, namely, the exaltation of Jesus.
We stand awestruck, watching Jesus ascend into the clouds of heaven, there to be enthroned at God’s right hand. We are overwhelmed by the divinity of the one whom we have known in his humanity. Amidst shouts of joy and exaltation, Christ is enthroned in heaven in both his divinity and his glorified humanity.
Now he is present with us in a new way, in a new body, in the church.
He teaches through its apostles and evangelists; he ministers through its prophets and pastors.
Through us he continues to heal and to comfort; to forgive and to include.
We have his power, the same power with which he performed marvels when he walked the earth.
We have each other; together we make up the new body of Christ.
Francis of Assisi is credited with saying, ‘Preach the gospel at all times and when necessary, use words!’ In every interaction we have we say so much about who we are, what we think of the other person and what we believe – even without opening our mouth.
Our actions and attitudes proclaim our beliefs more powerfully than our words ever do. If we claim to be concerned about justice and yet behave unjustly then it is our actions, not our words, that will be heard!
When we are called to ‘proclaim the Good News’ we are called to do this first and foremost in action.

Week 4 - School Attendance Data

Is regular attendance important?
Yes, from the first day!
If students miss the basic skills in the early years of school, they often experience difficulties later on. It has been shown that irregular attendance in the junior primary and primary years often leads to the development of poor attendance at secondary school.
Regular attendance helps your child develop the skills needed to access the world of work and other opportunities, learn the importance of punctuality and routine and make and keep friendships.
What should you do if your child refuses to go to school?
You should immediately contact Mr Oches, Mr Presley or Mrs Linda Holmes to seek assistance.
Reluctance to attend school is sometimes an indication that a student is experiencing social or emotional problems.
Student Leadership
Leadership is a quality that all students of St Anne's Catholic Primary School are encouraged and supported to develop. These experiences ensure that students perceive themselves as leaders and have the opportunity and confidence to take on leadership roles and find their voice.

Last week was the start of NAPLAN and we wish the students the best of luck as NAPLAN continues this week.
I have noticed that the grounds are getting a little messy. We need to remember to pick our rubbish up.
We must remember to respect our teachers at all times.
Hope you all had a good weekend.
