From The Principal
Welcome back to a new term. I hope you had the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones, especially during the Easter break.
Last Sunday marked the celebration of Easter—a truly significant day when Jesus rose from the dead, giving us the promise of rising to eternal life after our own passing. During Holy Week, we reflected on Jesus' journey: welcomed into Jerusalem as a King, enduring his sacrifice on Good Friday, and fulfilling all that was promised through his resurrection.
Easter reminds us that just as the sun rises to bring forth a new day, the Son of God rose to bring forth a new life. Through his resurrection, Jesus has assured us of the gift of new life in the place God has prepared for us.
This season is a time of celebration, of sharing love and hope with those around us. It is a moment to appreciate all that we have, to pause for reflection, and to embrace the future with renewed purpose. Easter inspires us to live lives that are stronger, kinder, more generous, and forgiving than ever before.
Principal's Messages
RIP POPE FRANCIS | Pope Francis was a man of profound faith, unwavering love, and true humility. Known for his genuine character and remarkable sense of humour, he mirrored the values of Jesus by embracing the poor and welcoming the marginalized. He lived modestly, avoided luxury and grandeur, and connected effortlessly with people from all walks of life. Truly, he was the people's pope.
Thank you, Pope Francis, for your selfless dedication to the Catholic Church and for touching countless lives beyond. May you find eternal peace in the loving embrace of God.

LEADERSHIP | Leadership is very much in the news. The world has been reflecting on the legacy of Pope Francis and many are pondering what type of leader the next Pope could be. We are also choosing leadership for our country.
So, this is a good time to ask not only what type of leader we each want but also, how are we to act as leaders. As parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers, we lead – whether we feel up to it or not. There are so many different aspects to leadership of our child/ren: giving direction, offering comfort, correcting, affirming, challenging – all the while providing for the needs of daily life, while looking after the whole family (or class) and our own selves. Feeling swamped?
This is a good space to ponder what type of leadership do we want from God, and how we could reflect that love to the needs of our family. Take some time each day, perhaps a minute or two, to rest in God’s love before the day begins and ask for direction for the tasks you are facing that day. Ask for the wisdom and grace that will give you the perspective to lead in love. Then trust that loving guidance will follow you through the day.
Loving God, you know how I can feel overwhelmed with the demands that are made on me in loving my child/ren. Give me the time and space to draw my strength and wisdom from you. I ask this in Jesus’ name confident that you will hear me.

100 DAYS OF PREP | On Friday the 13th of June, prep will celebrate this occasion by dressing up as people would have dressed 100 years ago. This can be as simple or elaborate as you wish. Let’s get all students joining in so that none are left out.
On the morning at school, we will have some activities based on the theme for students to explore and create from.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to come along and join the prep class. Of course, every celebration deserves some food to bring us together, so it would be wonderful if each family could bring along a plate of food to share with each other.
The morning will run from 8.45am - 10.00am at which point parents can go home. This time includes our assembly which the Preps will be running. Maybe there will be a part of assembly where the preps can strut their style in front of the whole school. Students can stay in their costumes for the day or may change into their uniform afterwards if they wish.
CONGRATULATIONS PAYTON AND GRACE | Congratulations to Payton and Grace for their great results in the recent 2025 Pony Club Australia, QLD Show Jumping Championships. Payton came away sixth in the State for Show Jumping and Grace came away with seventh place in the State for Jumping Equitation. We are so proud of you both.

ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATIONS | A heartfelt thank you to all the students, parents and staff who honoured the ANZAC Spirit by joining us for the liturgy last Thursday and the Sarina Commemoration on Friday. Your participation is a meaningful reminder of the respect, gratitude, and remembrance we hold for those who have served.

Project Compassion
Thank You for Supporting Project Compassion!
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful school community for your generous support and contributions to Project Compassion last term. From the delicious Meal Deals to the creative and enthusiastic fundraising efforts and Easter Raffle donations, we are thrilled to share that we raised almost $2000!
This incredible achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the kindness and commitment of our students, families, and staff. Every dollar goes directly to Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion, helping support vulnerable communities both here and around the world by providing essential resources like clean water, education, food, and healthcare.
Together, we are making a difference.
Thank you once again for your generosity and compassion!
Mother’s Day Prayer Celebration
We warmly invite all the wonderful women in our students’ lives to join us for a special Mother’s Day Prayer Celebration on Friday, 9th May at 8:40am in the School Hall, led by our Year 1 students.
This will be a beautiful opportunity to honour and give thanks for the love, care, and guidance of mothers and mother-figures in our community.
Following the celebration, please stay and enjoy a shared morning tea with us.
If you’re able to bring a plate of food to share, we would greatly appreciate it—it’s a lovely way to help make the morning even more special.
We look forward to celebrating this meaningful occasion with you!

Newsletter Report Week 10 By Bella | At lunchtime, when the bell rings, make sure you sit quietly for the teacher's instruction and make sure we use kind words to each other and be positive.
I have also noticed people running on the concrete. Just be careful as the grounds are still slippery.
Just a reminder about rubbish laying around our school. Make sure you pick it up so we have a tidy school.
Even though today is the last day of term, we still need to follow our school rules. Just remember that it's Easter holidays and the meaning of Easter is a Christian festival celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, marking the end of Lent and the beginning of a time of joy and celebration.
I wish everyone a safe and happy Easter holiday with family and friends. Have a blessed holiday.
Newsletter Report Week 1 By Taylah | Firstly I would have noticed that we have had some issues putting our hands up after the bell rings. We need to do this so we don’t have to practice in our playtime. I would like to congratulate all of the Easter raffle prize winners. I also loved all of the Easter bonnets and hats, they were all so creative. Remember the ANZAC day march is Tomorrow morning at 9:15 ready to leave at 9:40 at the field of dreams. Make sure you are wearing your correct formal uniform with your school hat apart from the Preps who wear their Prep Uniforms with their school hat. We also need to remember to not walk through the cones as there is a broken light and it could fall on you. Finally I would like to thank most of the year 4s and 5s for putting their hands up straight away after the bell rings.
See you tomorrow at the ANZAC day march.
