A Spectacular Garden Party
I am thrilled to express my sincere gratitude for the overwhelming success of our sixth annual Garden Party. It was an evening filled with elegance, camaraderie, and a genuine sense of community.
The dedicated efforts of our volunteer committee – Bella Triffett, Shay-Lee Sorrell, Nina Richards, Jess Hazel, Nikki McCowan, and Mel Keating – were instrumental in creating such a memorable event. Their tireless work, from conception to execution, is deeply appreciated.
I would also like to extend my thanks to Sarina State High School's hospitality students who were very professional in their service on the night and to our generous sponsors for their invaluable contributions. Your support has elevated this event to new heights.
Let us continue to support these sponsors who have contributed so generously to the success of our Garden Party.
Thank you all for making this evening truly exceptional.
I am thankful that we continue to be guided by God’s providence as we strive to create meaningful experiences for our community with the students at the centre of all we do.

NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST BULLYING & VIOLENCE | This year St Anne's participated in the national day; the theme for 2024 is 'Everyone belongs'.
When we all feel like we belong, bullying struggles to find a place. It's about embracing who we are, respecting everyone's differences and standing up together against unkindness. Becoming an upstanding not a bystander.
Being an upstander means we all have a role in preventing bullying. We've encouraged students to speak up and create a place where everyone feels supported and respected. This morning as an act of solidarity and action, students were invited to tie a piece of purple ribbon on the fence at the entrance. Thank you Mrs Dixon for your leadership of this ritual action. Please speak with your children about your family values and how they align with the notion of action against bullying.

ART COMPETITION | Please send entries in to the school office before 2 September 2024.

STUDENT-PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Term Three interviews will be opening soon. These are a great time to check in with your child’s classroom teacher regarding their progress and any questions/concerns you may have. Parents and caregivers play an important role in their child’s success. Questions you may wish to ask the classroom teacher during interviews are:
- What is my child learning?
- How is he or she doing?
- How can he or she improve?
- What support can I provide, and can you provide if he or she is struggling? When we check in again?
Questions you may wish to ask your child are:
- What did you learn today?
- How did you do?
- What did you do if you didn’t understand?
- How can you improve on your learning?
- What are you most proud of?
- What went well today?
Thank you for your ongoing support in your child's learning.
ICAS
Wishing the students participating in ICAS testing over the coming weeks the very best of luck. We have students participating in English, Writing, Spelling Bee and Mathematics. Good luck and enjoy the experience.

WHICH ONE DOESN'T BELONG?
The goal for ‘Which One Doesn’t Belong?’ is to improve mathematical reasoning.
There can be more than one reason why one image, shape, number or object doesn’t belong — the focus is on explaining the reasoning. All answers are accepted as long as the reasoning is true. Look at the picture of the following numbers.
Which one out of the four numbers doesn’t belong?
How do you know this? Can you find more than one way of explaining this?

St Anne’s family Mass at St Michael’s
We warmly invite you to join us for our Family Mass this Sunday, 9:00 AM at St Michael’s Church. This special occasion is not only a time for our community to come together in worship but also an opportunity to observe Social Justice Sunday, where we reflect on our shared commitment to justice and compassion in our world.
We are seeking volunteers from our Year 2 students and their parents to assist with the readings and prayers during the Mass. If your child or you would like to participate in this meaningful way, please reach out to Ms. Moloney via email at georgia_moloney@rok.catholic.edu.au
Michael Mangan Visit
We are thrilled to share that last Tuesday, our school had the pleasure of welcoming the talented Michael Mangan for an interactive performance. Michael’s music is well-loved by our students, many of whom are already familiar with his songs through their participation in Liturgies, Prayer Celebrations, and Masses.
The performance was a vibrant and joyful experience for everyone, with students enthusiastically joining in the singing and actions. We’re excited to announce that we will be adding more of Michael Mangan’s inspiring songs to our repertoire, enriching our future celebrations.
Father’s Day Prayer Celebration, Assembly and morning tea
We are excited to invite all fathers and father-like role models to our Father’s Day Prayer Celebration, led by our wonderful 1B class, on Thursday, 29th August, at 9:00 AM in the school hall. This is a special occasion to honour the important men in our students’ lives and celebrate the love and guidance they provide.
As part of the celebration, we will be showcasing a slideshow presentation. We kindly ask families to email a photo of the student with their father or father figure to Ms. Moloney by Friday 23rd August to be included in this presentation.
Following the Prayer Celebration, we invite you to stay for a morning tea. Please bring a food plate to share as we come together in community and fellowship.
We look forward to celebrating this special day with you!

Student Leadership
Newsletter Report By Lucy | Firstly, I would like to mention ‘Bullying No Way’ national week of action. It is not okay to be mean and nasty to people. Always be kind and caring and treat others the way you that want to be treated. We wear purple to represent that students at St Anne’s stand against bullying. Also, good luck to all students who have entered the ‘Bullying No Way’ colouring competition.
I have noticed some students that are not wearing their hats during playtime. Remember, you must wear your hat whether you are in the junior, senior or prep playground. Please remember, no hat no play.
Lastly, thankyou to everyone that is following teacher’s instructions, listing and sitting quietly at the end of lunch times. Well done to all students doing the right thing.
