From The Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
Recently I happened across this on an old piece of paper and thought I would share it with you. It spoke to me so I thought I would share:
“Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind; steady my hurried pace with a vision of the eternal reach of time. Give me, amid the confusion of the day, the calmness of the everlasting hills.
Break the tensions of my nerves and muscles with the soothing music of singing streams that live in my memory. Help me to know the magic of restoring sleep.
Teach me the art of taking minute vacations; of slowing down to look at a flower; to chat with a friend; to pat a dog; to read a few lines from the Scriptures.
Remind me each day of the fable of The Hare & The Tortoise so that I may know that the race is not always to the swift – that there is more to life than increasing its speed.
Let me look upward into the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew great and strong because it grew slowly and well.
Slow me down Lord, and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life’s enduring values that I may grow toward the stars of my greater destiny.”
https://prayersofapilgrim.com/2019/03/20/slow-me-down-lord/
How often do you take time to slow down and look at the flowers around you? Try to take a minute vacation each day this week and find where your God is talking to you!
Peace & Blessings
HOLIDAY BLESSING | Wishing you all a safe holiday; we look forward to your safe return. If you are traveling, our prayers go with you.
Dear Heavenly Father,
As our school families prepare for the holidays, we come before you with grateful hearts. We thank you for the gift of learning, for the friendships formed, and for the dedication of our staff.
As we embark on this time of rest and celebration, we ask for your blessings upon each family. Grant us safe travels, joyful experiences, and precious time spent with loved ones.
May our children return to school refreshed and renewed, eager to continue their learning journey.
We pray for your continued protection over our students and staff. Guide them on their journeys and keep them safe from harm.
May the spirit of peace, love, and joy fill our hearts throughout the holidays and beyond.
Amen.

SPLAT
Splats are a great interactive number talk that can be used across a wide range of year levels.
The goal is to work on subitizing & counting skills, parts of a whole and to encourage mathematical conversation.
Time to figure out the missing part covered by the splat... don't forget to explain your thinking!
How do you know?
How might you draw the number underneath the splat?
