From The Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
The end of this term sees report cards being issued, please see Mrs Gibson’s article in this newsletter for further information. We hope it provides a valuable snapshot to you of your child’s progress and a starting point for conversations about their learning journey.
Understanding the Report Card:
- Academic Achievement: The report card provides information on your child's performance in each learning area.
- Social-Emotional Learning: We also value your child's development of social skills and emotional well-being; the report card may include comments on their participation, collaboration, and self-regulation skills.
Using the Report Card at Home:
- Celebrate Successes: Take time to acknowledge your child's achievements, both big and small.
- Focus on Effort: Discuss the effort and strategies they used to achieve their results.
- Set Goals: Work with your child to set realistic goals for future learning.
- Open Communication: Use the report card as a springboard for open conversations about school and learning.
We're Here to Help!
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about the report card or your child's progress. Teachers are happy to schedule a meeting to discuss further.
Education at St Anne’s Catholic Primary School is a partnership between home and school, and we thank you for your continued support in your child's education. We can’t navigate this journey without your support.
Dear God,
As our students prepare to receive their report card, we lift them up to you. Grant them clarity and understanding as they review their results.
Bless them all with a sense of accomplishment for the effort they have put into their studies and guide them in focusing on areas where they may need to improve and help them develop a plan for continued learning.
May they feel confident and motivated as they move forward in their educational journey.
We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Important Information for Year 5 Parents
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
I am writing to inform you of some important updates regarding the Liturgy Evening traditionally held during previous Year 5 camps.
As you may already be aware, Year 5 students are scheduled to attend their camp in Airlie Beach during Term 3. This change comes as a result of the closure of Action Challenge Camp.
Due to the relocation of the camp, it has become necessary for us to reconsider the arrangements for the Liturgy Evening, which was previously an integral part of the Year 5 camp experience. Recognizing the sentimental value, significance, and importance of this occasion, the school Leadership Team is actively exploring suitable alternative arrangements.
Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring that this event maintains its special nature and continues to foster the important bond between parents and our school community. We will communicate further details and information regarding the revised plans for the Liturgy Evening in due course.
Should you have any immediate questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

REPORT CARDS
In Week Ten, our report cards will be posted on Parent Lounge. Contained in this report card is information in relation to your child’s progress during Semester One.
When you receive your child's report card, it is important to take the time to read to them the comments the teacher has written and discuss these comments together. Praise them for the effort and achievements they have made throughout the semester and discuss successes they have had so far.
If you are unable to access Parent Lounge, please contact the office for your username and password.
SPLAT
Splats are a great interactive number talk that can be used across a wide range of year levels.
The goal is to work on subitizing & counting skills, parts of a whole and to encourage mathematical conversation.
Time to figure out the missing part covered by the splat... don't forget to explain your thinking!
How do you know?
How might you draw the number underneath the splat?

EDUCATION SUPPORT DOG - TILLY
What breed is she?
Tilly is a Labrador, she has a brown nose and green eyes because both her parents are chocolate labradors. Her brothers and sisters are chocolate, and she is the only yellow lab. I think this makes her extra special.
What makes Tilly different to other dogs?
Tilly was purchased and specifically bred for this role. She has been temperament tested and completed intensive training. Tilly has already had positive imprints to children, adults and other animals (small and large) at the K9AA HQ farm/training centre. She has had early exposure to other environments including vehicles and cafes (with great caution) and vets.
All K9AA Therapy and School dogs wear a bandana when working. Tilly visits St Anne's two times per week.
Concerns/Questions
Please email shona_gibson@rok.catholic.edu.au if you have any questions or concerns regarding Tilly visiting St Anne's.
