From The Principal
Dear Parents, carers and students,
I'm writing to express my immense pride in our students following our recent Track and Field Carnival which I saw as a celebration of sportsmanship.
At times, the atmosphere was electric, filled with cheers and healthy competition.
What truly impressed me, however, was the fantastic display of sportsmanship many of our students exhibited throughout the day. Those students maintained a calm and respectful demeanor, following staff and parent instructions diligently and encouraging their peers with positive energy.
Their positive behaviour was a testament to the values we cultivate at St Anne’s Catholic Primary School. It was so heartwarming to see them supporting each other, celebrating successes both big and small, and offering encouragement to anyone who stumbled.
This exemplifies the spirit of St Anne at its finest; it wasn't just about winning, but about participating with grace, respect, and a sense of fair play. I want to extend a general thank you to all of you, the parents, for your role in fostering these positive qualities in your children. The support you provide at home plays a crucial role in shaping their character and sportsmanship.
We look forward to seeing these positive behaviors continue to shine throughout the year!
A very special thank you goes out to the dedicated staff who assisted from the early hours of the morning, often working tirelessly throughout the day. Your behind-the-scenes efforts ensured everything ran smoothly, and your unwavering commitment to our students is truly appreciated.
We also extend a heartfelt thank you to the amazing parents who volunteered to staff the day; please know that you are appreciated more that you will know. Thank you too to those who looked after the tuckshop, your hard work kept everyone fueled and in high spirits throughout the event. We couldn't have done it without your generosity and positive energy.
Finally, a very special thank you to Mrs Gibson for her unwavering leadership in organising the entire event. Her dedication, meticulous planning, and commitment to excellence were instrumental in making the Track and Field Carnival such a resounding success. Thank you Mrs Gibson.
You are all warmly invited to attend assembly this Friday where the winning house will be announced, and age champions celebrated.

Important Information for Year 5 Parents
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
I am writing to inform you of some important updates regarding the Liturgy Evening traditionally held during previous Year 5 camps.
As you may already be aware, Year 5 students are scheduled to attend their camp in Airlie Beach during Term 3. This change comes as a result of the closure of Action Challenge Camp.
Due to the relocation of the camp, it has become necessary for us to reconsider the arrangements for the Liturgy Evening, which was previously an integral part of the Year 5 camp experience. Recognizing the sentimental value, significance, and importance of this occasion, the school Leadership Team is actively exploring suitable alternative arrangements.
Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring that this event maintains its special nature and continues to foster the important bond between parents and our school community. We will communicate further details and information regarding the revised plans for the Liturgy Evening in due course.
Should you have any immediate questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

REPORT CARDS
In Week Ten, our report cards will be posted on Parent Lounge. Contained in this report card is information in relation to your child’s progress during Semester One.
When you receive your child's report card, it is important to take the time to read to them the comments the teacher has written and discuss these comments together. Praise them for the effort and achievements they have made throughout the semester and discuss successes they have had so far.
If you are unable to access Parent Lounge, please contact the office for your username and password.
SPLAT
Splats are a great interactive number talk that can be used across a wide range of year levels. The goal is to work on subitizing & counting skills, parts of a whole and to encourage mathematical conversation.
Time to figure out the missing part covered by the splat... don't forget to explain your thinking!
How do you know?
How might you draw the number underneath the splat?
HINT - there is the same number of circles under each splat.

The Good News
From the Assistant Principal: Religious Education
Ms Georgia Moloney
National Reconciliation Week Prayer Celebration and Assembly
Thank you to Year 6 for leading the National Reconciliation Week prayer celebration. Your efforts made the event meaningful and special. We also acknowledge the work and effort from Mrs Tatchell and Mrs Zaro in creating the Sea of Hearts artworks and for their continued support and work with our students.
National Reconciliation Week is important because it helps us learn about our shared history, celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and work towards a united future. This week is a chance to build respectful relationships and acknowledge past injustices. By coming together in prayer and reflection, we honor First Nations peoples and commit to a more inclusive and understanding community. Our involvement shows our dedication to these values.

Sports News
Netball:
Spirals
The Spirals are so lucky to have Mrs Hazel and her daughter Lilly helping with coaching and at games. The team are preparing and training extra hard in the lead up to Challenge Cup carnival in Term 3.
This week the Spirals played against Sarina Blazers. It was a tough game and the scoreline did not reflect the effort of the team.
Firebirds
The Firebirds had an outstanding game this week against Koumala Krusaders with a 9:2 win! Xotchil was especially impressive with her goal shooting skills. As always Molly and Grace were outstanding at both attacking and defending. Piper also displayed her growing netball skills with some fabulous passes and finding space on the court. Millie displayed resilience time and time again recovering from injuries and playing on!
Well done Firebirds!
