T1 W9 Newsletter 2024
From The Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach Holy Week, a time of profound reflection and renewal within our faith tradition, I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts and encourage you to explore this significant period with your families.
Following in the footsteps of Jesus is a powerful way to enter Holy Week. The narrative of Jesus' journey, from Palm Sunday's joyous celebration to his ultimate sacrifice and resurrection, offers a wealth of lessons for our own lives.
This Holy Week, we invite you to embark on a journey of self-discovery alongside your children. Here are some ways you can explore the connection between your values and your daily lives:
- Personal Reflection: Create a space for quiet contemplation. Encourage your children to journal or meditate, considering values like compassion, honesty, and responsibility. Help them reflect on situations where these values were present, or perhaps where they could be strengthened.
- Scriptural Guidance: The Bible is full of wisdom and guidance. Spend time together reading through Gospel stories of Holy Week. Focus on Jesus' actions and teachings, and discuss how these stories connect to your own family values.
- Seeking Inspiration: Look for inspiring figures in your lives, whether saints, spiritual leaders, or even people you admire personally. Discuss how these individuals have embodied their values through their actions. What lessons can be learned from them?
- Renewal and Commitment: Holy Week is a time to recommit to our faith. Based on your reflections as a family, identify areas where you can strengthen the alignment between your values and your actions. Setting achievable goals together can be a powerful way to make lasting changes.
Whether participating in St Michael’s Parish services or our School prayer celebration, engaging in family discussions, or simply creating moments of quiet reflection, we encourage you to embrace the spirit of Holy Week and Easter.

Student-Parent-Teacher Interviews
Welcome To Term One interviews! This is a great time to check in with your child’s classroom teacher regarding their progress and any questions/concerns you may have. Parents and caregivers play an important role in their child’s success. Questions you may wish to ask the classroom teacher during interviews are:
- What is my child learning?
- How is he or she doing?
- How can he or she improve?
- What support can I provide, and can you provide if he or she is struggling? When we check in again?
Questions you may wish to ask your child are:
- What did you learn today?
- How did you do?
- What did you do if you didn’t understand?
- How can you improve on your learning?
- What are you most proud of?
- What went well today?
Thank you for your ongoing support in your child's learning.
ESTI MYSTERY
An ESTI mystery is a fantastic way to engage students at the beginning of the lesson.
Each image invites students to wonder what number is represented by the image. As you work through each Esti-Mystery, clues will appear that will allow the students to use math concepts to narrow the set of possibilities to a small set of numbers.
Have a chat with your child and discuss the possible answers to the below ESTI Mystery.

Don't forget to discuss your answer.
Drumroll please - The number of objects is 58!
