Building a Bridge for Success: The Power of Partnership in Education
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we strive to nurture the well-being and learning journey of each student at St Anne’s Catholic Primary School, we recognise the crucial role you play as partners in their education. Your unwavering support and collaboration are fundamental to unlocking their full potential.
At St Anne’s, we believe that education thrives when families and teachers work hand-in-hand. By fostering a strong partnership, we create a unified front, ensuring that every student receives the support, guidance, and encouragement they need to succeed.
Why Partnership Matters:
- Enhanced Learning: When parents are actively involved, students exhibit better academic performance, improved focus, and higher levels of intrinsic motivation. Open communication between teachers and parents allows for tailored strategies and support that address individual needs.
- Social-Emotional Well-being: Knowing they have a strong support system at both school and home fosters a sense of security and belonging in students. Regular communication allows for early identification of any concerns regarding their emotional or social well-being, enabling timely intervention and support.
- Shared Goals and Expectations: When parents and teachers work together towards shared goals and expectations, students benefit from a consistent and coherent learning environment. This fosters a sense of accountability and responsibility, leading to improved behavior and engagement.
Three-Way Interviews: Strengthening the Bridge
In line with our commitment to partnership, we are excited to announce the upcoming Three-Way Interviews commencing 11/03/2024 and continuing until 22/03/2024. These individual meetings are a fantastic opportunity for you, your child, and their teacher to:
- Discuss your child's progress: Gain insights into their academic strengths and areas for improvement, learning styles, and overall engagement.
- Collaborate on strategies: Work together with the teacher to develop personalized learning plans and support systems that cater to your child's specific needs.
- Share concerns and observations: Discuss any concerns you may have and share valuable insights that can benefit your child's learning journey.
Booking Your Interview:
We highly encourage you to book your Three-Way Interview slot between 1pm 01/03/2024 to 12pm 08/03/2024. You can do so through Parent Lounge. We believe that actively participating in this event is invaluable to your child's success.
Together, we can build a strong bridge of partnership that fosters a vibrant learning environment and nurtures the well-being of every student. We look forward to collaborating with you to unlock the full potential of your child's journey at St Anne’s.
Sincerely,
John Ballinger-Oches

NUMBER TALKS
Number talks have been happening in many classes at St Anne's. The purpose of 'number talks' is to encourage deeper student thinking and reasoning.
Please find below an example of this number talk for lower years- have a chat with your child about this. This is more than one answer.
You may wish to ask your child questions such as:
- How do you know?
- Can you explain this in more detail?

Student Led Three Way Parent Teacher Interviews - Weeks 8 & 9
Student Led Three Way Parent Teacher Interviews are being held in weeks 8 & 9. These interviews are held before and after school hours, not during the school day. Your child's teacher may not be available before and after school every day during this period. If none of their available times suit, please speak directly with your child's teacher to make other arrangements, as we believe it is important for all parents to have this chance to connect with their child and teacher together. Please see details below for when to book your interview through Parent Lounge. An SMS reminder will also be sent when Parent Lounge opens for bookings.
Parent Teacher interview dates: 11/03/24 - /22/03/24.
Parent Lounge open for bookings: 1pm 01/03/24 - 12pm 08/03/24.

Project Compassion
Ronita is 22. She lives with her husband and two children in a barangay (local district) in Quezon City, which is situated in Metro Manila in the Philippines.
Ronita left school when she became pregnant as a teenager. This could have had a life-long impact on her ability to find work and provide for her family but, thankfully, she heard about the Alternative Learning System (ALS) program run by the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), Caritas Australia’s local partner in the Philippines.
Through the FCJ, Ronita was able to re-enrol in her studies and continue learning in a safe and flexible environment – even with the arrival of her second child.
After completing her ALS classes, Ronita went on to earn her Grade 12 Senior High School Diploma. With her new diploma, Ronita has now secured a job at a call centre and is looking to a brighter future for her whole family.
“I have now graduated senior school and I am so proud of myself,” she said. “I feel hopeful for the future… Now it’s not impossible for me to achieve my dream… Thank you.”

Together, we can help vulnerable communities face their challenges today and build a better tomorrow for all future generations.
